We are looking for a Mid or Senior Full Stack Ruby on Rails Developer to produce and implement functional software solutions. You will work with upper management to define software requirements and take the lead on operational and technical projects. In this role, you should be able to work independently with little supervision. You should have excellent organization and problem-solving skills. If you have hands-on experience in software development and agile methodologies, we’d like to meet you. Your goal will be to develop high-quality software that is aligned with user needs and business goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality software design and architecture
- Identify, prioritize and execute tasks in the software development life cycle
- Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code
- Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
- Review and debug code
- Perform validation and verification testing
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to fix and improve products
- Document development phases and monitor systems
- Ensure software is up-to-date with latest technologies
Skills
- 4+ years of back-end development experience (Ruby on Rails)
- 2+ years experience coding with SQL back-ends, including Postgres (via AR or pure SQL)
- 3+ years experience coding frontend in Angular or React (on top of RoR or as a separate client)
- Solid knowledge of data structure and algorithms
- Experience with writing detailed unit tests, monitoring code coverage, and linting your code
- Experience with authentication, encryption, and security techniques
- Experience with Heroku, AWS, and other cloud platforms
- Experience delivering a high-quality product as an individual contributor as part of a high-performing team in a fast-paced, continuously changing environment
- Proficient with Git (Github workflow)
- Experience working closely with other software engineers to accomplish larger objectives
- Excellent communication skills (pure fluent English NOT required, clients are from USA but devs mostly from Poland)
Bonus points:
- Are passionate about web standards
- Are comfortable with API+Microservices design
- Have experience with Golang
- Have experience with Postgres hosted on Heroku
