Ruby Developers


The Client offers:

  • Salary: 12 000 – 20 000 PLN netto B2B
  • Fully remote cooperation
  • Full-time job
  • Flexitime (at least 6 hours matched to working hours in UK)
  • Permanent employment ( 6 months trial period)
  • Work in very highly skilled developers team using hi-tech tools
  • Great opportunities for career progression within the development team up to a Lead Developer in Poland

Key duties:

• Daily communication with a Lead Developer in UK (chat or hangouts)
• Building reusable, high-quality code and libraries for future use
• Designing and implementing major new features for internal and external users (for e.g. Customers, Testers, Operations Team)
• Developing of all server-side logic
• Definition and maintenance of the central database
• Integration of user-facing elements developed by a front-end developers with server side logic
• Ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.
• Implementation of security and data protection
• Optimization of the application for scalability and max speed
• Managing hosting environment, including database administration and scaling an application to support load changes

Skills and qualities:

• Have built highly scalable and robust systems in the past
• Proficient knowledge of Ruby (+ rails)
• Good understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Good understanding of TDD/BDD and it’s benefits to be able to code with and without it while keeping the code quality high (you need appropriate mindset when coding)
• Basic / entry level understanding of few of the SOLID principles
• Understanding of “session management” in a distributed server environment

Previous experience:

• 3+ years experience in both backend and frontend development
• User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, environments
• Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system
• Outputting data in different formats
• Data transformation, migration and scripting
• Setup and administration of backups
• Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes

Bonus skills / experience:

• Any experience with building Docker based server architecture (starting with a dev machine and ending in scalable production)
• Any experience with building NodeJS apps (both frontend and server apps)
• Any experience in latest ReactJS, ES5, ES6, Redux
• Knowledge of automated testing and specs maintenance problems so you can provide suggestions to the sales or management team from time to time if they have any questions
• Understanding of front-end technologies and platforms, such as JavaScript (React), HTML5, and CSS3
• Understanding of server-side CSS preprocessors, such as LESS and SASS
